Finally finished the jacket. It was really difficult to decide what to do with the top panel. But I just went for it and hope it was for the best. I think I'm pleased with the overall affect, but I've been working on it for so long that It's kinda hard to be detached enough from it to know if it's any good or not!
My second sari-bag. Made it yesterday. This one has lovely shiny pink lining. Picked it up from a recycling place. I'm not sure if it was some sort of shrine cover or maybe a rather fancy table cloth!
I'm now going to try and finish the embellished denim jacket. I'm hoping to put it in a local exhibition next week.
Made a couple more booklets. The booklets are meant to be last on the blog and the sari-bag at the bottom is meant to be first. Haven't quite got there on working this blogging malarky out yet!
Just finished watching Gone with the Wind for the third time. It's only taken me four days to get through it this time. It probably would have taken longer, but I've just been forced to sit downstairs as we are having plastering done in the hall and there's no access upstairs. What a fantastic movie. I felt inspired to see it again as I have just started reading the book. I think it will take longer than four days to read that though. The character Rhett Butler is so sexy and Clark Gable plays him so well. Shame he was meant to have had halitosis (Gable not Butler).
I have just started colour co-ordinating my stash of buttons into separate glass jars. This has been inspired by Annette at the craft group. I am very anal in this way so it's nice to know there are others out there. Her jars looked lovely with their own colour thing going on in each one. It set off some very interesting confessions during the session of people's secret habits involving buttons!!! Also other anal activities that we like to do. I love sorting - paper, fabric, cotton thread. Anything really, usually colour co-ordinated though.
I've been rooting around at our local car boot fair and I found some lovely jars for some of my buttons. I also found this lovely braid and ribbon. Got myself lots more clothes I don't need too!
There are some interesting sites to do with buttons. The history of the button over at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A23623616 and a buttonarium museum (although this is going through some construction at the mo) at http://www.buttonarium.com/.
